Eid 2016

First and foremost, EID MUBARAK everybody!

For those that aren’t aware, Eid marks the end of Ramadan, it is one of the most important celebrations for Muslims all around the globe.

Unfortunately, this was the first Eid I spent away from my family. I tried to make the best of it but of course, nothing can beat being around your immediate family. The outfit I initially got, could not be fixed on time. I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to explore Souq Naif and Meena Bazar. These two markets are in old Dubai. Roaming around them reminded me of being back home at Tariq Road (bazaar in Karachi, Pakistan). The vibe, the crowd, shopkeepers trying to lure you into their stores to buy things, everything was so familiar. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

This is the outfit I ended up getting, its Arab/Afghan ish inspired. This came in several different colors, I couldn’t decide between black/gold or white/gold. Because I usually choose black with my western outfits, I went with white/gold. I don’t know how they measure their sizes because I bought this in a small size but it was still too big for me. I had to get it altered. I think this outfit is simple and different than what I would get made if I were to get it made from Pakistan. I want to go back to the bazaar and get some more Arab/Afghan inspired outfits 🙂 I love how similar but still different they are from my usual Pakistani outfits.

How was your Eid? feel free to share your Eid outfit pictures 🙂

Much Love,

Kinza G Khan
